O Museu Municipal de Tavira – Palácio da Galeria promove, nos dias 27 e 28 de maio de 2026, duas visitas guiadas em inglês à exposição "O Azulejo em Portugal. Uma História em Aberto", orientadas pela voluntária Sharon George, numa iniciativa de mediação cultural dirigida a visitantes e residentes estrangeiros.

     Organizada em colaboração com o Museu Nacional do Azulejo (MNAz), a mostra reúne 70 obras de referência da coleção do MNAz e propõe uma viagem por mais de cinco séculos de azulejaria portuguesa, desde as primeiras encomendas quinhentistas, provenientes de centros produtores como Sevilha e Flandres, até às abordagens contemporâneas de artistas como o Estúdio Pedrita, O Gringo e Adriana Varejão.

     As visitas serão conduzidas em inglês por Sharon George, voluntária do Museu Municipal de Tavira, e destinam-se ao público em geral, com especial foco em visitantes e residentes estrangeiros que pretendam explorar este património de forma mais aprofundada.

     The Museu Municipal de Tavira – Palácio da Galeria will host two English-language guided tours of the exhibition "Azulejo in Portugal. An Ongoing History" on 27 and 28 May 2026, led by volunteer Sharon George, in a cultural mediation initiative aimed at foreign visitors and residents.

     Organised in collaboration with the Museu Nacional do Azulejo (MNAz), the exhibition brings together 70 works from the MNAz collection and traces more than five centuries of portuguese tile art — from the earliest 16th-century commissions sourced from production centres in Seville and Flanders, to the contemporary approaches of artists including Estúdio Pedrita, O Gringo and Adriana Varejão.

     Tours will be conducted in English by Sharon George, a volunteer at the Museu Municipal de Tavira, and are open to the general public, with a particular welcome extended to foreign visitors and residents wishing to engage more deeply with this living heritage.
